Welcome to Making Space – A Mid-Life Nurse’s Guide to Living the Best Life!
Thanks for stopping over to meet me and learn a bit more about who I am and why I blog. I am so glad you are here.
Lately, I have been really working hard on trying to do so many things. I am a nurse, a mom, a wife and more. I spend a lot of time helping others and often forget to help myself. I know I am not alone in this battle. Many nurses do the same. Most moms struggle with this. And, as women, it is simply in our nature to put ourselves last.
I have been a nurse for almost 20 years. During that time, I have worked at the bedside, in management and in case management. I am an adjunct professor at the University of Cincinnati’s in the Master’s of Healthcare Administration program and a healthcare writer. Check out my site at melissamillswrites.live. I have been featured on allnurses.com, nursetogether.com, recovery brands and more.
I am available to write for your company too! I will be offering expanded services in 2018, so keep coming back to make sure you are in the know!
I am a mom to 3 teens. Yep, I said it, 3 teens. I know you are feeling sorry for me right now! Our oldest is 16, then another 16 year old and finally an angst-y 14 year old. We are a blended family and this has brought so much love and joy to my life. The kids keep us busy. Slowing down is hard. I oftentimes think about the fact that in less than 2 years the make up of my household will change drastically. Am I ready for this? I honestly don’t know. But, I have to get ready. Whether I like it not.
I have been married for 4 years to an amazing man. This is a second marriage for both of us and we certainly appreciate what we have a lot more the second time around. I love being married and learning new things about myself as a person and a wife everyday.
Again, I am glad you are here and I sincerely hope you learn more about yourself and how important it is to “Make Space for Your Best Life.”
